How to Connect WordPress to LinkBoss
Follow these steps to integrate your WordPress site with LinkBoss. The entire process takes about 5 minutes.
Step 1: Install the LinkBoss Plugin
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Go to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for “LinkBoss” in the plugin repository.
- Click Install Now, then click Activate.
Step 2: Copy Your Site URL
- From your WordPress admin, copy your site’s URL from the browser address bar.
- This is your WordPress installation URL (e.g.,
https://yoursite.comorhttps://yoursite.com/wp).
Step 3: Create Your Site in LinkBoss
- Log in to your LinkBoss dashboard at app.linkboss.io.
- Click New Site.
- Paste your WordPress site URL into the field.
- Click Create.
Step 4: Get Your API Key
- In your LinkBoss dashboard, click Configure on your new site.
- Copy the API key shown on this screen.
Step 5: Connect the Plugin
- Go back to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Navigate to LinkBoss in your left sidebar.
- Paste the API key into the API Key field.
- Click Save Settings.
Step 6: Sync Your Content
- In the LinkBoss plugin settings, click Sync Now.
- Wait a few seconds for the sync to complete.
- Click OK when the confirmation appears.
Step 7: Verify the Sync
- Go to your LinkBoss dashboard and reload the page.
- If the Configure button has changed to Tools, the sync was successful.
- Click Tools → Site Report to verify.
- Confirm that the number of pages and posts matches your actual WordPress content.
How to Confirm Everything Synced Properly
To verify your WordPress content synced correctly:
- Check the Site Report: In LinkBoss, go to Tools → Site Report. Compare the number of pages and posts shown here with your actual WordPress content count.
- Check the Plugin Dashboard: In WordPress, look at the LinkBoss plugin dashboard. The “Sync Done” count should equal your total posts and pages. “Sync Remaining” should be zero.
- Triple-check: If Site Report numbers = Plugin Sync Done numbers = Actual WordPress content count, everything synced properly.
What Happens After Integration
Once your WordPress site is connected, LinkBoss automatically:
- Analyzes all your content for linking opportunities
- Suggests contextually relevant internal links
- Inserts approved links into your content
- Tracks anchor text distribution across your site
- Syncs new content automatically as you publish

Troubleshooting
Sync is stuck or not completing
- Check that your API key was saved correctly in the plugin settings.
- Verify your site URL matches exactly (including https://).
- Click “Sync Now” again to retry.

Content count doesn’t match
- Make sure all posts and pages are published (drafts don’t sync).
- Check if you have custom post types that need to be enabled.
- Run a fresh sync by clicking “Reset and Full Sync” in the plugin.
Links aren’t appearing on my site
- Verify that link insertion is enabled in your LinkBoss dashboard.
- Check that you have active link suggestions approved.
- Clear any caching plugins on your WordPress site.
